The Baby Walk Birth Story
After spending her first maternity leave mostly alone due to the pandemic, and struggling through early-parenthood, Baby Walk founder Kimberly was determined to do things differently with her second child.
Having moved to a brand new city on the other side of the world, she was determined to experience a more joyful first year of parenthood.
She knew the key to that was making local connections and she wasn’t willing to leave it up to chance encounters at playgrounds or playgroups to slowly build up her village.
So Baby Walk was created to invite local mums to casual and consistent meet-ups to build real connections quickly and effortlessly. It’s a safe, shame-free space where mums can connect and share their experiences - while getting in some gentle exercise and a much needed cuppa!
As Baby Walk began, she quickly learnt that so many mums were craving the same thing - and so Baby Walk grew into a centralised platform for anyone to start their own walk from anywhere.
Who Baby Walk is for
Baby Walk is for any mum who is looking for local connections. We’re here to make sure no one walks alone in early parenthood. Mums who attend baby walk are often:
Mums who missed out on first-time mums groups - for example, they moved to the area after
Mums with multiple kids and their original mums group are back at work
Mirgants and expats who wern’t able to join mothers groups and are most at need of community
Mums who’s mothers groups just didn’t gel or initiate consistent meet-ups
Mums who have struggled to prioritise fitness post-partum and are encouraged by the gentle approach to exercise Baby Walk offers.
We also get a lot of mums from mothers groups who use the event as their way to meet up without having to plan activities themselves. Its a great addition to the offering as a way to ensure mothers groups can build and grow connections after their sessions end.

Baby Walk is the highlight of my week! Amongst all the choas, I know there’s a group I can rely on every week to laugh and cry with through the ups-and-downs of the baby days.
